SPT Evaporative Air Cooler with 3D Cooling Pad
This versatile, lightweight, and economical evaporative air cooler, humidifier, and fan can easily be rolled from room to room for use anywhere in your house or office. The air cooler shoots a stream of air with oscillating louvers, evenly distributing refreshing cool air. It features a 3-D honeycomb cooling pad and a remote control.
The air cooler works by an endothermic reaction, where it sucks air through a wick saturated with water. As the air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air, consuming the heat that was in the air. An air stream is then blown out the front of the unit, and it is considerably cooler than the current room temperature. This is not an air conditioner and, therefore, uses much less energy.
The 3-Dimensional honeycomb cooling pad is a unique design for enhanced cooling performance. The cooling pad is made of cellulose paper, impregnated with unique ingredients for high performance and structural strength. It is treated with special stiffening and wetting agents for maximum water absorption and retention, as well as with anti-rot chemicals to prevent algae and bacteria growth. The two-dimensional, weaving structure of the cooling pad allows for longer contact between air and water, unlike other units on the market where air only passes through a flat, 2-dimensional cloth.
It is important to note that this unit is not an air conditioner and does not have a compressor inside. Air coolers are designed for spot cooling and are best used in dry climates or open spaces. It is recommended to leave the window/door open to limit the rise of humidity and for better air ventilation in the room. Adding as much ice as possible and setting the unit next to you can provide the best cooling effect.
This unit boasts several features, including auto swing louvers, a computer-controlled system with an LED panel, and three fan modes: Normal, Natural, and Sleep. It also has an up to 7.5-hour off-timer, and it consumes only 65W of power, making it an energy-saving option.
